Laundry Bag
Monday July 13, 2009
While we were on vacation, I used the screen beach bag as a laundry bag. It worked great to prevent mildew etc, but it also was over-stuffed and over-flowing by the time we got home. When my children were young we made laundry bags out of pillowcases for camping. They are a great way to tote laundry to the laundromat or for kids at camp.
Vacation
Thursday July 9, 2009
This past week, we were traveling... celebrating my Granddad's ninety fifth birthday and visiting my brother-in-law. The car was jam packed. If you're getting ready for vacation I have two words of advise... tote bags! You can't have too many tote bags and they only take a little bit of space when you are packing... but my oh my how they hold all the goodies you pickup along the way.... and they squish into the free spaces in the car much better than luggage will squish.
Christmas in July!
Monday July 6, 2009
Thanks to my Great Grandmother's Christmas packages every July while I was growing up, I always think about Christmas in July and that it's time to get a jump on all the gift making that's ahead. I have kept my New Years resolution by working on various Christmas ornaments every month but now it's time to add some gift making to the year-round Christmas projects.
Scratched Glasses
Sunday July 5, 2009
I'm at a stage that I don't need to wear my glasses all the time... but I need them often enough that I always have them with me... which leads to me setting them down and them getting beat up all the time... and scratched lenses because of it. I need to make an eyeglass case for all the places I usually set them down. Maybe then I will actually keep them from getting scratched. I know better than to think I would actually carry a case from location to location so I'm going to use
production sewing methods to make a half dozen
eyeglass cases.
