Ahhhhhhhhh

Tuesday December 19, 2006
Today I'm taking a breather and looking at how much I have done instead of how much I could still be doing. The tree is up. The house is decorated. The packages are wrapped... well most of the wrapping is done... that must count for something. The shipped gifts are in the hands of the shippers and beyond my control.

I still have unfinished gifts in the sewing room... but that happens every year. If I don't finish them before the big day, they will make great birthday gifts.

I did finish the Christmas stockings. I finished tote bags. I finished magic wallets for gift certificates. I even have a few spare gift bottle bags made, just in case. I made the school age family Draw String Back Packs.

The cookies still have to be baked but given cholesterol and diabetes being such a concern, I'm cutting back on those this year. Instead of the days of baking I usually do, this year baking cookies is getting one afternoon.

If you're feeling the crunch, take a few minutes to reflect on how much you have done. We always have something else that we wish we could get done but we are only human and there are limits to our endurance. Relax! Enjoy your family and friends! There's always birthdays and next Christmas!

If you feel that you must do more, pick projects that are quick and manageable. Here's a few to keep in mind.
