Sew Simple & Efficient!

Monday June 18, 2007
Simple to sew potholderThis weekend I had company for dinner... and was embarrassed at the condition of my potholders. It had been a while since I made new ones. The potholders I was using had been left out at the grill and were just plain grimy looking. So this morning I made nice clean new ones!

I love these potholders! The first time I made these I was eight years old. They are a great project for anyone learning to sew!

One year I made them for my sister for Christmas and she made no apologies for asking me to make her new ones the following year.

The design allows them to be used like an oven mitt without the bulk so even a child has control over the potholder. The padding can be removed for faster drying time in the laundry. You can even hide the dirty part by putting the padding in the opposite end and re-folding the potholder.
