Puzzle Pouch & Free Patterns

Thursday January 17, 2008
When ever I watch movies about our past I am mesmerized by the clothing and my mind wanders to how they were made, was the sewing machine available, how did they get the fabric, the tools, the notions... and I'm usually in awe of the fact that the costumes weren't made by hand but the real clothing of that time was!
The NativeTech: Native American Technology and Art site is is a fun place to explore for Native American History. The Leather and Clothing area of the sitegot my total attention! They have great projects with free patterns that could be totally hand sewn. The projects are bound to get kids excited! I didn't even know what a puzzle pouch was before reading Learning about Puzzle Pouches. Finding the free puzzle pouch pattern was an exciting bonus! Many free patterns and instructions can be found as you read through the information provided on the site! I only wish I had found this site the year my daughter was studying Native American history!
