A Bag for Everyday with Endless Fabric Possibilities
Wednesday April 9, 2008
Our local news recently carried a segment about women's pocketbooks and the bag contents being stolen at stores and shopping centers. We all leave the bag in the seat while we unload the cart and load the car so a thief knows just when to make a reach and walk away with our possessions.
I've started putting my bag in the bottom of the cart while I shop to make it less accessible. I never bothered closing the zipper on the bag I was using which is enticing to a thief. I wanted to make a bag that would be closed without the closure being an inconvenience and I found a great bag that is big enough for everyday uses up those fabrics I bought at the quilting store because I couldn't resist the great prints.

This won’t sell purse/bag patterns but it sure will help in keeping your bag from being stolen.
Secure the child’s seat belt in the shopping cart around the ‘handles’ of your bag or purse. It will make it more difficult for the thief to steal the bag as well as more difficult to get into the bag.
If you put your purse in the cart/seat– and there is a child strap/seat belt—hook it through your strap so it won’t be so easy to take off with. Never leave the zipper open or walk away from your cart. Be aware!
Girls!
I work at a retail store with a lot of theft. Lock your purse and bag with the child locks like you would a baby. It works. Since I told a lot of woman to do it. Theft is down.
