Bum Bag

Tuesday April 15, 2008
Free Bum Bag DirectionsI was going around emptying wastebasket when I discovered that my husband had actually parted with a pair of his jeans... they usually hang around until I make them disappear. I totally agreed that they were beyond wearing but I had a second life in mind and created a bum bag. Lots of built in pockets and one less thing in the landfill! Who could ask for more!

I have made denim blankets for years & have also recycled the tops of the levis. I cut the legs off, as you have done, serge the raw edges, than fold to the inside & sew. I use the flat felt seams to use as handles & sew them on, also as you have done. Now you have a grocery bag. I had a lady buy one for her daughter to use for her hair accessories. Someone also suggested one for her greenhouse to hold seed packets, small hand tools etc. They are wonderful to use for just about anything as there are so many pockets. Something else I have done is save the back pockets & resew them to regular denim bags I have made. Works great!!
