Teaching Children to Sew

Thursday June 19, 2008
Summer is just around the corner and with it looms the eventual, "nothing to do blues". Almost any sewer can tell you about the wonderful sense of accomplishment when complimented on a new garment. Allow your children to experiment and find their own sense of accomplishment and self esteem. Start simple with the easiest sewing projects.
Don't expect absolute perfection and find ways to keep it fun! Practice sewing straight lines on paper with no thread in the machine... the paper ends up perforated and fun to rip into strips.
On this site you'll find sewing projects for all ages and skill levels, economical fabric, sewing machine information and sewing tool information.

Perfect! I’ve been teaching my 11 year old granddaughter to sew and these projects are great. Thanks.
