County Fair Time

Monday August 18, 2008
Over the next few weeks, the county fairs in my area will be opening. I LOVE going through the 4H buildings and seeing everything that is home made... the sewing is always a focal point for me but I love seeing that so many life skills are still available for kids to learn that not everything has to be from a kit or mix. One of my biggest thrills is seeing projects designed for beginners that they found on this site.
There is also the open entry areas where quilts and other sewing skills are displayed. Last year I didn't get rushed by the rest of the family because there was a huge science display in the same building... they stayed exploring science while I drooled over the textiles. If the science display isn't there this year I'm sending them to the midway with a book of ride tickets so I can take my time and gather all kinds of ideas... there is SO much inspiration to be found in those displays! How about you? What's your favorite part of the fair?
