Clown Cotumes

Wednesday September 17, 2008
Clown Costume CollarI'm sure that a clown costume pattern is one of the best selling costume patterns. Mom and I actually made money on used clown costumes that we had made with a pattern by selling them at a yard sale. It was probably a fluke but a "professional" party clown couldn't resist our handy work and bought our used costumes.

Sew a Clown HatThis year I'm sewing up a clown costume without a pattern, for one of those babies that has become an important part of my life. The way I'm doing it, the mom will have a very usable outfit when Halloween is over. I did that once when my children were young by decorating their pajamas and those pajamas were always their favorite.... so much their favorites that I remember having to sneak those pajamas into the laundry and made sure they were ready for bedtime.

For this costume I'll be adding a clown collar and cuffs to top and matching sweat pants. The solid color sweat pants were easy to match a solid fabric and make a clown hat to match. Fabric pompoms on everything make it all coordinate.

The little guy should be here to visit this weekend so I can get pictures of the finished out fit but in the meantime I have all the directions you could need to create a clown costume ready for you.
