Ice Packs

Wash Cloth Ice Pack CoversHow many summer injuries can you think of off the top of your head that send you scurrying for an ice pack to make someone feel better and keep the swelling down?  My daughter had surgery this week that has had us running out of ice for the number of ice packs we have been using. I had stocked up on all kinds of cold things for her to eat but I forgot to stash ice ahead from the ice maker so now I may even end up buying ice.  At the hospital they gave her an ice pack and wrapped it in a wet washcloth.  I love our solution so much more.  Since she has been home, we just re-fill the ice and rotate the "ice packs" ... the best part is we don't have to worry about the ice slipping out of the cloth covering the way the hospital ice slipped out of the folded washcloth.    I may make some more so I can run those through the wash.  I know since it's summer we are bound to need more ice packs as the summer injuries start to happen.

This is a GREAT idea. Unfortunately, we use ice packs a lot. Funny thing, we always wrap them in a hand towel. Why didn’t I think of this?
Thank you!
