Create a Burlap Bulletin Board

burlap covered bulletin boardMany of you may remember me talking about cleaning up our local town hall. We have now painted that old dark paneling... talk about a way to totally change a room! It came out GREAT! The only issue is that many of the clerks like to tape things all over the walls and we are concerned that the tape will lift the paint and primer. So we decided to make bulletin boards for every possible spot that something might get posted. There was no way you can buy all the different sizes that we want and we didn't want cork brown... so we have been making our own bulletin boards to ft between windows and doorways... in the size and color we want without any cork!

One of the very first 4H projects I remember was making our own bulletin boards... and I couldn't find the project written up anywhere... even the county office didn't have it... so I experimented and came up with my own set of directions.

Even if you don't need a bulletin board I hope that if you work with others, you will look at this project... it's a fantastic project that has no sewing but teaches SO much about working with fabric and more!
