I could probably end up on a hoarders show and I bet most people have been throwing away this fabric. I think this bag came out so cute and it's strong and durable. What's it's made out of may surprise you. I saved a cat food bag and transformed it into a tote bag.
Most cat food, bird seed, dog food, litter and many other bags are made from the same materials that tarps are made of. They are strong and durable material. Finding a way to re-use those bags make sense to me. You can save on what you toss in the trash and make strong durable bags to carry so many things.

You know, I have been saving feed sacks from the oats we feed our donkeys, thinking I’d make grocery bags out of them! Hadn’t really thought through the process yet though. SO glad you posted this!! Can’t wait to get started!
Debbie – did you use any special thread? What type of needle did you use on this type of material?
I have thought of using bags that cat litter comes in to line the inside of some quilts to be like a thermal blanket material, after all look what conditions outside tarps go thur….I will try it on a small scale and see how it works, and it could also be made for kitty beds to help keep them warm and the softness of the material will keep them comfy….
