Emergency Repair Sewing Kit
Rips and tears happen at home and they are bound to happen when kits travel. Here's a way for the kids to be prepared for the unexpected problem.
Materials Needed
- A Small puncture proof container (such as a small lozenger tin)
- A small 3" square piece of light weight cardboard (a piece of cereal box)
- Needles and thread
- Safety pins (a couple in a variety of sizes)
- A couple of standard size buttons
Directions
Collect all the items on the above list.
Make slots in two sides of the piece of cardboard.

Thread a couple of hand sewing needles with basic thread colors.
Wrap the thread around the cardboard and tuck the needle into the thread.
Tips
Small scissors are a great addition but can be dangerous if they get into the wrong hands. Use a parents discretion.
A safety pin can be used for a zipper pull if one breaks while your away.
