Lesson 10 - Shoulder Seams And Band Preparation
Note: To learn the most, please follow all the links that are provided. If you are just joining us, please refer to Sewing Lesson Index to start at the beginning of the lessons.

Please refer to Page 5, under the gray box that says View B and scan down to Shoulder Seams

Item 50 of the Instructions read: "Stitch Fronts To Backs at shoulder seams". You must remember that in the preparation for sewing information they told you that this pattern has 5/8" seam allowances. If you have any doubts please refer to Sewing Lesson 4 -Seams And Seam Finishes.

Follow the pattern instruction sheet for Items #51 through #54. These steps are very self explanatory but if you have any questions please ask on the forum in the sewing lesson folder.
Always remember that unless the directions state other wise, when you are sewing a seam, place the right sides of the fabric together and apply seam finishes. More on seam finishes is available at Sewing Lesson 4 -Seams And Seam Finishes. The only seams that you may not need to worry about a seam finish are the seams that are enclosed within fabric such as the seam in Item # 52. If a seam finish is applied to an enclosed seam it usually ads bulk that you do not want.

I will be on vacation but the next lesson will be coming up as soon as humanly possible.
