Lesson 5 - Purchasing a Pattern - page 3
Continued From Page 2

Area 4 will help you decide on the size you will be working with, and the amount of fabric that you will need to buy.
First let's look at the sizing information.

sizing area of envelope

You will find both mens and wovens measurements because this pattern is for either. The areas to measure are described on the pattern. Take all of the measurement for the closest match to the pattern size. If you are very tall consider the finished measurement length. You may want to allow extra fabric for lengthening the robe.

Now move down to the next chart to decide how much fabric you should purchase.

fabric requiremnents chart

You will need to read the chart. First find view B, then choose the length, now move over to the column for the size you need. This will give you how much fabric to purchase. Remember the other notes about shrinkage and if you have decided you will need extra length.
Repeat the same column reading for the interfacing requirements.
