Pattern Making Information

To make a pattern you will need perfectly square corners. If you have a carpenters square, a 1" grid or a perfect square to work with, you will not need to purchase anything special. If none of these items are available to you, please purchase pattern grid interfacing. This is available at most local sources and usually has red dots in a 1" grid pattern. The pattern can be made on tissue, newspaper, poster board or pattern grid.

For this pillow you will need a rectangle that is 16" by 36".

Make the pattern with perfectly square corners. Some directions will have you add a seam allowance, but I have always found that a pillow cover made starting with the exact size of the pillow form, makes a nicely fitted cover.

Before you cut out the pattern, measure the inside of the rectangle from corner to corner. If you have perfectly square corners, all measurements will be the same. If they are not, start again until the corner to corner measurements are equal.
