Saving Sewing Memories
Debbie Colgrove

My Scrap Smart Image CDs got me started. For decades quilts have been a symbol of history and considered heirlooms. Yet as I tried to describe my first sewing projects to my daughter, I had nothing to show her. Why haven't we given the same respect to the things we sew?

My oldest daughter is in to scrapbooking and I have finally "gotten" why! It's a wonderful way to preserve more than plain flat pictures.

From now on everything I make, is going to get it's own scrapbook page. I own a digital camera so the image of the finished item is fast and easy.

Each page is going to now have:
  • The date I started and the date I completed the item (That should encourage me to finish everything I start.)
  • A scrap of the fabric.
  • The pattern information.
  • The amount of time it took to make the item.
  • Techniques that I tried for the first time.
  • Things I would change if I made that same pattern again.
  • A photo of the item.
