A motorcycle - click here
You will need:
- Fabric suggestions: vinyl, oil cloth, weather proof nylon
Note: If field mice are in your area, do not use flannel backed vinly! They use the flannel to nest in the motor and they are so good at it that the nest is not seen until it causes motor problems. - Optional: Drawstring coring -- the length of the bottom edge of the cover
- Optional: Toggle -- to pull the cording and hold the cover (sources)
- For all covers you will have 2 side pieces and 1 center piece.
You will also need 1" wide strips of the fabric to cover all the seams. - With wrong sides together, align the long edge of the center piece to the top edges of one of the side pieces. Stitch using a 1/4" seam allowance. Clip as necessary to turn corners.
- Repeat to attach the other side piece.
- Find the lengthwise center of the 1" strip. Place the center at the edge of the seam allowance, fold to enclose the seam. Stitch to cover and enclose the seam.
- Repeat for the other seam.
- Optional: Make a 1" buttonhole on the front center bottom edge or use a grommet.
- On the bottom edge of the cover, fold up 1" and stitch close to the raw edge. Stitch again, 1/8 from the first stitching on the hem.
- Optional:Run the cording through the hem, using the buttonhole for access.
- Optional:Attach toggle to the cord.
