Fabric Savvy By Sandra Betzina
Everyday I receive email requesting information about specific fabrics. Although the Internet is a wealth of free information, some information is best to have on hand in your sewing room. Fabric Savvy by Sandra Betzina is the answer for all kinds of fabric dilemmas!
This book is an encyclopedia of information that every sewing room should have on the book shelf. Each fabric type has it's own section devoted to that specific fabric. The book is uniform for each fabric type making it an easy to use hand book.
Every type of fabric lists, preshrink, layout, marking, cutting, thread, needle, stitch length, pressure foot seam finish, pressing, topstitching, closure, and hem suggestions. The next page for each fabric, entails facts about the fabric, what it is suitable for and sewing tips. All the techniques are referenced with diagrams in the back of the book. These diagrams are not as in depth as her book Power Sewing, but do get the idea across.
A glossary of terms and index make this book one of the easiest to use references that is available.
Add this book to your sewing library as soon as possible. You never know when a bargain for fabric you have never sewn before is going to turn up and this book will be your salvation for immediate answers.
