Convert Jeans in to a Denim Skirt

Materials Needed:
  • A pair of well pressed jeans (This is a great project to use those jeans with tattered hems)-- Two pair of jeans will be required for a long jeans skirt. Two pair may also be needed if you want to add wedges to the side seams to flare the finished skirt.
  • A Seam Ripper
  • a sewing machine
  • thread -- You can sew the seams in thread that matches the denim but I prefer Coats Dual Duty Plus - Extra Strong For Jeans thread. (Note that while using this thread in the bobbin and upper thread I did experience machine difficulties if I tried a lock-stitch or the built in thread cutting due to the weight of the thread.Using it for normal straight stitching did not cause any difficulties at all.)
