The Bottom Line

I LOVE this bag. and know I will be using the pattern again and again.
Pros
  • A good sized bag for everyday use.
  • Directions allows many places to reinforce and strengthen the bag.
  • Fabric combinations allow endless possibilites
  • Well illustrated directions
  • Clear easy to follow directions
Cons
  • Rotary cutting tools are almost essential for proper cutting
  • No exterior pockets in the bag.

Description

  • The finished bag measures 5 1/2" wide by 10 1/2" across by 11" high.
  • Six interior pockets make keeping an organized bag possible.
  • I did replace the Velcro closure described in the directions, with a magnetic closure (available at local Joann's Fabric).
  • Rotary cutting tools are the best way to cut out perfect rectangles to make this bag.

Guide Review - Lazy Girl Designs Pattern #118 -- Pattern Review

After watching the news and how many thefts have happened from open hand bags in a shopping cart, I started looking for a bag that would easily close and be deep enough to keep items out of easy grab if I did leave the bag open.
This bag meets the criteria and more! The construction process allows for 6 interior pockets. The pockets fit my cell phone, makeup, hand sanitizer etc.
The next time I make the bag, I will be experimenting with adding a pocket to the outside in the center section. I don't think it will be difficult because of the way the bag is constructed.
