  • Launder the jeans
  • Match the tops of the waistband and pin them together keeping the side seams at the sides.
  • Find a straight area at the bottom of the zipper but at least two seam allowances below the bottom of the zipper and mark straight across the jeans.
  • Cut across the marked line keeping the jeans flat as you cut.
  • Do not discard the remaining part of the jeans!
  • Apply embroidery, appliqués or trims to mask holes and decorate the pocketbook. It is much easier to sew these aspects now while the purse is not constructed.
