  • Fold the pants leg in half matching the seams as you would to press creases in the leg. The crease line "should" be the straight grain of the fabric.
  • Measure 2" in from the crease, leaving the crease intact, and mark the length of the pants leg.
  • Cut on the 2" mark, through both layers of the leg leaving the crease intact.
  • Press the crease.
  • Fold the long edges in to meet the crease, matching wrong sides of the fabric.
  • Trim the ends of the strip if needed to square them.
  • Fold in 1/4" on the narrow ends and re-press the sides.
  • Press well.
  • Stitch around the entire edge of the strap,pivoting at the corners.
  • Set the strap aside.
