Sew the Strap to the Body of the Bag

  • Fold the 35" edge of the 19 1/2" by 35" rectangle in half.
  • Mark the fold line by gently pressing the fold.
  • Measure in 4" from each end of the fold and mark on the fold.
  • Lay the rectangle out flat.
  • Fold the webbing in half lengthwise and mark the center.
  • Lay one end of the webbing at the mark and the fold.
  • Keeping the webbing flat, lay the half way mark on the other mark.
  • Bring the other end around to meet the starting point. Working from the center fold, pin the webbing in place XX" from the edge of the rectangle, stopping 6" from the top edges of the rectangle.
  • Sew the edges of the webbing stopping and pivoting at the stop point, sew across the ends and back down the edge of the strap.
  • Pin the "handles" to the body of the bag so they stay out of the way while you construct the bag. [/ul}
