The Zipper

Sew a Zipper in a Duffel Bag

• Place the pull side of the zipper on the right side of the fabric, lining the edge of the zipper tape with the ends and edge of the fabric.
• Sew the zipper to the fabric following the 1/4" guide on the zipper tape (about the middle of the zipper tape).
• Apply a seam finish to the edge of fabric to prevent stray fibers from being caught in the zipper.
• Press the fabric under the zipper.
• Top stitch along the folded edge.
• Repeat for the second side of the zipper.
