- Using the marking made in step 1, fold wrong sides together at the 4" mark and bring the fold to the 4 3/4" mark. Repeat for the 6" mark. Repeat to complete all of the pleats on the top of the body of the bag pieces.
- Baste and press in place.
- Press the pocket piece in half on the 6" edge, matching the raw edges.
- Baste the edges together.
- Align the pocket pieces on the bottom of the body of the bag pieces, aligning the edges and bottom of the body of the bag piece.
- Baste the pocket in place.
- Sew rows of topstitching perpendicular to the bottom of the bag, to create pockets a size of your choosing. The pockets shown here were sewn at the quarter marks of the width of the body of the bag piece.
