Mark a rectangle on the pocket fabric, 3/4" from the top edge and 1" from the sides, 1/2" wide, as shown in the diagram.
Stitch a rectangle on the markings.
Cut the rectangle open as shown in the cutting diagram, carefully snipping into the corners without cutting the stitching.
