Lay the body of the bag flat.
Place the end edges of the fringe in the end of the strap bringing th side edge of the fringe and bag in to the center fold of the strap.
Keep the strap evenly placed on both sides of the bag.
Pin the strap in place on one side.
Repeat for the other side of the bag, being sure that the strap is not twisted.
Pin or baste the entire strap in place.
Top stitch the strap in place, by sewing an even distance from the folded edge of the strap that is on the outer fabric, sewing through all the layers.
If desired, top stitch again an even distance from the outer folded edge of the strap.
