Now that you have an edge with perfect crosswise grainline, fold the fabric, matching the selvage and the newly cut crosswise grain edge. Pin the fabric edges so they stay put.
Now smooth the fold line on the fabric. Does it lay smoothly? If it does you are all set to continue with your sewing project.
If the fold line seems twisted and warped you will need to go to the next step.
