[p}Materials Needed:yo-yos made from white or fabric color of your choice(How to sew a Basic Yo-Yo)1 Large yo-yo made by starting with a 3" diameter circle. 5 Medium yo-yos made by starting with 2" diameter circles. 20 Small yo-yos made by starting with 1.5" diameter circles.Strong, quality thread Optional; small silver, white beads, fabric glue and glitter
Using the above photo as a guide, arrange the large (L), medium (M) and small (S) yo-yos to create the snowflakes. Starting with the large center yo-yo, hand sew the yo-yos that encircle the large yo-yo to the edges of the large yo-yo. Work your way out until the entire design is connected. Hand sew a thread chain and create a loop for hanging the ornament.
Use your creativity to arrange beads in any desired pattern to decorate your snowflake. In the snowflake shown here, a bead was sewn to the center front and back of each small and medium yo-yo. In the center of the large yo-yo a circle of five beads was sewn to the center front and back of the large bead.
Protect your work surface with plastic or layers of newspaper. Experiment on extra yo-yos to achieve the amount of glue you will need to achieve the desired effect.
