Prepare the Inside Flaps

How to sew the inside pocket and flap on a durable fabric binder cover.

  • Hem the pockets by turning under the top edge 1/2" and under 1/2" again.
  • Stitch the hem in place by sewing close to the edge.
  • Line the pocket up on the inside flaps and baste them in place
  • Turn under the spine edge of the inside flap pieces and the overlapping pocket, 1/4" and 1/4" again to enclose the raw edges.
  • Top stitch the hem in place.
