Patience!
  • Read the instructions for your paint product! In my case the products called for the paint to cure for at least 24 hours.
Heat Setting
  • Protect the other parts of the fabric by placing clean cardboard inside and using parchment paper (or paper from fusible web or interfacing)
Laundering
  • Use cool or cold water to was your painted fabric. As with any brightly colored fabric, turning the item inside out helps the garment or item maintain it's original color. In the case of painted fabric, turning the painted area inside, will prevent abrasion to the fabric paint.
Drying
  • I prefer to air dry painted fabric. Most products say you can machine dry but I would not use a very hot temperature and if air drying is available I believe it is a better option so that the heat from the dryer can not melt or damage the paint.
