Lace is delicate and making your own lace ornaments allows you to experiment with thread colors as well as different types of thread. The ornament shown here was sewn out using Bottom Line 60 wt. polyester bobbin thread and Glitter hologram thread from Superior Threads. The photo does nto do justice to the glistening that the glitter thread achieves. This thread is available in 24 colors and I'm anxious to experiment with different color threads on different color ornaments. I can envision Christmas lights glistening on the glitter thread, enhancing the visual effect.
The design is one of many available from Embroidery Library, either as individual designs or as a collection.
The techniques are fully described and enhanced with photographs so even a novice at machine embroidery can accomplish stitching out and finishing a lace Christmas Ornament.
Let your embroidery machine stitch out these wonderful lace ornament covers while you surf the Internet for new sewing information and you'll have ornaments to give as gifts for Christmas.
