Finished Insulated Lunch Sacks

Lunch boxes seem to become "uncool" at an earlier grade level every year! A new brown bag in the trash for every school day really adds to our land fill nightmare! Contribute to ecological efforts by making an insulated fabric sack that will keep your child's lunch cold and safe...and it's washable so you know it's clean.

Materials Needed:

  • Approximately 3/8 yard of 45" wide fashion fabric for the exterior of the bag*
  • Approximately 3/8 yard of 45" wide fabric for the lining" (I used a nylon wind breaker weight so that it could be sponged off)
  • Batting - a thin but dense batting seems to work best
  • Fusible Web
  • 3" piece of 3/4 to 1" wide hook and loop tape
  • Thread
*Preshrink your fabric before making the bag so that it is washable without worrying about it shrinking after the bag is made. How To Preshrink Fabric Before Sewing
