- If you purchased webbing be sure to melt the ends of each cut piece, by singeing the ends near a flame.
- Fold under 1/4" on the narrow ends, toward the wrong side of the fabric. Press in place.
- Press each strip in half lengthwise.
- Fold both raw edges in to the fold line and press enclosing both edges. Adjust if necessary to have your folded edges match each other perfectly.
- Make two rows of top stitching on both long edges of each strap.
- Place the ends of the straps on the inside of the bag, matching the center of end of each strap with the marks on the body of the bag.
- Stitch a square with an X from corner to corner for strength.
- Turn bag right sides out and press. Fold like you would a paper bag and press.
Embellishment Ideas:
- Use applique to embellish the bag. Now the fun part starts.
- Consider using glow in the dark, thread and paints while embellishing to increase safety.

- Place the cardboard or plastic canvas inside the bottom of the bag to have a straight enforced bottom in the bag.
- Use fabric that coordinates or compliments the costume.
