Folding the Fabric

Folding the Fabric to Make a Christmas Tree Costume

Folding the Fabric

Debbie Colgrove, Licensed to About.com
  • Using the center (lengthwise) fold of the fabric, fold back each side edge to meet the center fold. (So that the width of the fabric is folded in quarters with three folds.)
  • Fold the length in half. Cut on this fold to have two equal lengths of folded fabric.
  • Fold the lengths again by the number of desired "branches".
  • Mark these fold with a temporary mark such as removable chalk, vanishing ink or a soft press.
