On the bottom branches at the inside "bottom of the branch" hand sew boning or wire to the point on the felt inside the costume.
  • Continue around the tree keeping the tree open and full as you attach the boning or wire.
  • Overlap the ends of the boning or wire at the place you started. Tack the ends of boning together with stitches.
  • If you are using wire, tape the ends of wire and coat them with tape to prevent the ends of wire from poking the costume wearer.
  • Repeat at as many "branches" as desired, avoiding the face area to eliminate the possibility of the costume wearer being poked in the face.
  • Carefully put on and remove the costume so that the wearer does not become entangled or poked with the boning or wire.
