Laundry Bag from a Pillowcase

Debbie Colgrove, Licensed to About.com
Need a great way to tote your laundry to and from the laundromat or a laundry bag for camp? Take a look in your linen closet for pillowcases you aren't using and convert them into laundry bags.
Gather Your Materials:
  • A pillowcase -- one worn to tissue paper thin is not worth using as it will rip in no time. Make Your Own Pillowcase
  • A sewing machine that can sew buttonholes. You may prefer small grommets or eyelets to use instead of buttonholes.
  • Ribbon or cording to use as a draw string. Measure the top edge of your pillowcase and add one foot for the amount to buy. Most pillowcases will use XX" of drawstring.
  • An iron or chalk to mark the placement of the buttonholes.
  • Optional: A toggle to "lock" the drawstring. (For those who are supply impaired locally like I am, I save toggles and hardware off of old jackets and backpacks.)
