For these cabinets, I bought unfinished kitchen cabinets and matched the stain to my bargain drawers as closely as possible. I did see base units that "might" have made desk drawers if the were cut down to eliminate one drawer.
By attaching the cabinets at a usable height, the space above the cabinets makes a perfect location for the dust collectors that I want to display.
In this photo you can see the finished sewing machine desk. The legs from one of my yard sale desks were used to support the corner. The frame attached to the legs from the original desk, was cut down to fit and is attached the the wall as well as the bottom of the counter top. The legs are set back so there is room for my legs as I switch between my machines.
