A Log Carrier for Firewood Made with These Free Project Directions

This firewood carrier has ends to keep everything in the bag, no matter how far you tote it. The bag ends allow you to carry small kindling and pieces of bark with out loosing them on the way to the house. Nobody likes making the trip twice when there is snow on the ground. If you want a fast and super easy log carrier, be sure to see this free pattern for a simpler log carrier that still features the easy to carry handle.

Materials Needed:

Cutting:
  • Square the yardage and remove the selvedge - Rotary cutting tools make this easy.
  • Cut one 40" X 24" rectangle for the body of the bag
  • Cut two 12" squares for the ends of the bag
Preparation
  • Fold and press the twill tape in half for the entire length of the tape. Be careful of your iron temperature if you are using polyester twill tape. (I found this easiest to do by pinning the hand folded tape to the ironing board and working an ironing board length at a time.)
Markings on the body of the bag
  • Mark 20" on each 40" edge - This will be the bottom center marking
  • Mark 5" in from the edge on the entire length of both 40" edges
  • Mark 1" down from the 20" edge on the 5" lines
Mark the ends of the bag
  • Mark 6" on one side of each 12" square - this will be the bottom center marking
