How to Make the Base Pattern Pieces to Sew a Pet Bed

You will need large paper for this pattern piece. You can use newspaper, gift wrapping paper, tissue paper or pattern grid interfacing but I recommend starting on newspaper and then transferring the finished pattern to the pattern grid if desired. (Tip: Watch dollar stores for wide rolls of gift wrapping paper to keep in your sewing room.)
Using tissue paper or newspaper, trace a 14" circle. An embroidery hoop was used in this photo, you can also use a compass, large bowl or pan, or any circular item you have on hand.
