Shadow appliqué is a technique which shadows or subdues the appliqué. In this project, organza is used to diffuse the brightness of artificial fabric flowers as well as hold the flowers in place.
Materials List:
- Artificial Fabric Flowers- choose flower that can be pressed out relatively flat and still show their details. I have used pansies in this pillow.
- Organza or an old sheer curtain. Cut the organza at least 2" larger then the pillow front required for the pillow you are sewing. It will be trimmed to size when all embellishment is finished.
- Sewing machine
- Pillow Front cut larger than your pattern requirement and trimmed to size after you have finished the embellishment.
