- Turn the fabric wrong side up (a shirt inside out).
- Looking inside or at the right side of the fabric, place a straight pin straight through the center marking.
- Lay the fabric flat and smooth on a flat, smooth surface.
- Apply a light spray of temporary spray adhesive to the wrong side of the embroidery area.
- Using the straight pin as a guide for the center, lay a layer of stabilizer over the embroidery and hoop area.
- Repeat the temporary spray adhesive and a second layer of stabilizer.
- Make sure all layers of the stabilizer and the shirt or fabric is smooth and not stretched.
- Remove the straight pin.
Note: In some cases it is advisable to
baste the stabilizer to the fabric. Always place your basting stitches outside the area where the embroidery design will be so that they are able to be removed when you are finished.
