Guide Review - Fast, Fun & Easy Fabric Boxes

I admit addiction! After playing with all the fabric bowl options, my mother knew just how much fun I was having and bought me Fast, Fun & Easy Fabric Boxes by Linda Johansen. I admit that Mom had to share our conversation with my nose stuck in the book. This book is a wonderful compliment to Fast, Fun & Easy Fabric Bowls. All of the directions are easy to follow and the photos spur your imagination!

I couldn't wait to get home and play. I had a few supplies left from our shopping spree earlier in the week and immediately pulled out more fabric to give them a try.

I've gone through a good part off my stash matching up coordinates, the only question left is how I am going to control myself when I visit the fabric store again. I know I saw a wonderful sewing theme print that would be perfect for fabric boxes when my daughter and I go to 4H sewing nights. I think I'll help our club make great FABRIC sewing boxes.... after all, any excuse to make more!

Box Shapes which are Possible---May Be A Surprise, Member GuildSewist

Because most of the boxes which are demonstrated are less than useful --- you need to understand that going in. A sharply pointed rhomboid, for example, may not hold much except, perhaps, gift ear rings. All boxes have 'extra fabric' wrapped around the four corners --- so achieving a fitting lid may not be easy. Another consideration is the amount of rotary cutting, of double adhesive interfacing --- one Guild mate complained about carpal symptoms. Love the Chinese take-out that becomes a placemat. Your imagination has no limit in choosing embellishment for that one!
