Guide Review - A Scissor Sharpener

Sharp scissors aid in accurate and neat cutting jobs. To test this product I sharpened a pair of dressmaker shears that were approximately fifteen years old. Before being sharpened the scissors chopped and hacked at plain muslin when trying to slide the shears to make a cut. After sharpening with the Fiskar Sharpener the shears slide through the same fabric leaving a smoothly cut edge.

The lack of any non slip base makes it necessary to keep a firm grip on the tool while sharpening a pair of shears. This could easily be overcome with a small piece of no-slip shelf liner. I found it easy to simply hold the tool while using it to sharpen the shears.
