- Sandwich the attached zipper with the unattached piece of fabric, placing the zipper tape on the right side of the second piece of fabric and aligning the 9" edge.
- Sew the second piece of fabric to the zipper tape using the same 1/4" seam allowance.
- Press the fabric back away from the zipper teeth.
- Press under 1/4" on the opposite 9" edge of the second piece of fabric.
- Bring the pressed under edge to the zipper and pin or baste in place so that the pressed edge is lined up with the stitching line of the zipper.
- Stitch along the edge of the fabric to hold the fabric back from the zipper. It is necessary to stitch with the zipper open, stitching as much of the edge as possible and then stitching from the ends lining up the centered stitching.
