Materials Needed
- Poster board or Oak Tag
- Basic Character picture from a magazine. coloring book or poster
- Yarn
- Transparent Tape
- Glue
- Paper Punch
- Box or envelope for storage
Directions
- Glue picture to poster board.
- Cut out character's shape, circle or square.
- Make evenly spaced paper punch holes around the edge of the card.
- Tie one end of the yarn through one hole to the card.
- On the "needle end" of the yarn, roll transparent tape around the end of the yarn to stiffen it and taper into a point.
Tips
- Look for Dritz Plastic Sewing Needlesto prevent pricked fingers.
- Let the child use a coloring book picture that they have colored.
- Use contrasting and bright color yarn to hold their interest.
- Make a couple of them so you have a back up when they knot the yarn.
