Starting the Knot:

Getting the hang of a thread knot that you mean to make can cause tension but it doesn't need to. Practice a few times to get the hang of knotting the end of your hand sewing thread...the worst that can happen is that you waste a couple feet of thread.

Thread the needle. Sewing Needle Threading Tips & Tricks

Place the end of the thread on your pointer finger, holding it in place with your thumb.

Wrap the thread around the pointer finger.

Slide the Knot off the Pointer Finger:

Using your thumb, slide the threads together towards the end of your pointer finger.

Slide the Knot to the End of the Thread:

Using the end of your pointer finger and thumb, gently slide the knot to the end of the thread.
