How to Repair Ripped Fabric and a Torn Belt Loop on Jeans

Many people tug at the belt loop on jeans to pull the jeans up. The lower cut the and the tighter the jeans, the more the belt loop is tugged on and apt to rip. The fabric under the belt loop is usually shredded in the process of tearing the belt loop from the pair of jeans. This can be repaired and the jeans can be comfortable when the mending job is finished.

Materials Needed to Repair a Ripped Belt Loop on Jeans

• The jeans with the ripped belt loop
• Denim thread
• A small piece of fabric - This fabric should be light weight but tightly woven. If you use a scrap of denim, it is apt to make a patch that is heavy and uncomfortable against skin on the inside of the jeans.
• Optional (but makes the job easier)- temporary spray adhesive
• Optional -- if the loop is sewn in place with the Jeans Gold thread you will need the Jeans Gold thread to resew the loop in place.
