Fully mark your button hole placement. Use a running stitch of hand basting or a marking pencil on the interfacing, that will not show through.

Mark the following:

  1. Center of garment
  2. Buttonhole placements
  3. 1/8" on each side of buttonhole
  4. Ends of buttonholes
